He has been out of sight and mind for the past few months, but that has now come to an end. Zinga is on the Budweiser Hotseat:

ESPN.com: So, it's been a few months, where have you been hiding?

Zinga: First off, it's good to be back. Thank you for having me. As for the absence, "school and work" is the simple answer. I switched jobs at the beginning of May, and now commute two hours a day. Not to mention, I'm still attending the University of Maryland full time. I only have one more semester to go, though.

ESPN.com: Do you plan to leave your fans hanging again or was that an isolated incident?

Zinga: Well, I didn't plan on taking a three-month hiatus...just sorta happened. But no, I don't "plan" on doing it again, as you say.

ESPN.com: Anything new in your life you'd like to share?

Zinga: New? Well, we are moving a week from today.

ESPN.com: Where to?

Zinga: Crofton, Maryland.

ESPN.com: Crofton? I personally do not agree, but let me play devil's advocate for a second (debate mode). If you are going the length to blame CSI, you need to blame the A&E shows like Cold Case Files and The First 48. Those shows are worse than CSI, for they are, what we like to call, real. This argument would provide more cannon fodder than the CSI one.

On the flip side...

"People are getting more sophisticated with making sure they're not leaving trace evidence at crime scenes," - Chuck Morrow, chief of the criminal division in the Trumbull County Prosecutor's office.

This has little do to with watching CSI (which I personally do not). It's a form of evolution. If you happen to notice that more and more idiots are getting caught in their murders, then obviously changes need to be made...and they are. Simple internet searches nowadays reveal anything; you do not have to watch CSI to find out that bleach destroys DNA.

"Most people who commit crimes are not very bright and don't take many precautions," Pozner said. "CSI and all the other crime shows will make no difference." - Larry Pozner, former president of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

Amen.

PS - I blame <a href="http://aviewtothesouth.blogspot.com/"target="_blank">Leftside.

It's official.

<a href="http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/01/26/palestinian.election/index.html"target="_blank">Hamas has called for the destruction of Israel. He says, "Good morning, Sir, here is your mail". What do you do? Run? No, he would just think you are weird. And my luck, the rule about running away from a police officer (and that being grounds for arrest) applies to mailmen too. So I greet him back and grab my mail from his hand. My worst fears are realized...an official letter from "the government". I decide to open it, just days earlier having said I will not open an official letter from the above-named organization as long as I have a Service Remaining Requirement, SRR (and I have one year from 2 Feb).

The letter is three sentences long (yeah, I know, it was so long, it took two sit-downs). It begins by saying that the Army's Human Resources Command (HRC) has identified me as having a SRR. True, I do (one year). Then it goes on to say that the HRC is calling up soldiers from IRR to augment the Reserves and Active Duty (NOT true. The Hon. Francis J. Harvey, Secretary of the Army, said on 18 November 2005, that the Army is not calling up anymore soldiers beyond the levels they are currently at). The third sentence tells me to call him at the number provided to "go over my options". See, in my mind, options is plural...indicating more than one. There aren't any option(s). Now, I have no problem calling him up and telling him this.

I was pissed b/c it was the weekend and I couldn’t iron out the situation then and there (I called to no avail). Honestly, what recruiter do you know that doesn’t work weekends? So in the meantime, I did some research. First off, there was no office symbol on the "official" letter. Anyone that has spent any time past Basic Training knows that every letter has an office symbol. There was no date. My name appeared no where in the letter (it was on the envelope). The unit was listed in the Header as the 99th Regional Support Command (based out of Coraopolis, PA......honestly, where the hell is that?!). Ninjakitty-assisted research indicated that this particular unit had been re-designated the 99th Regional Readiness Command in April of 2003. Don’t you think that the letter should reflect that change nearly three years later? Research is a basic tool learned in the most "basic" NCO school, namely PLDC. What I am saying is, he did not consult AR 25-50, the Army's Guide to Correspondence. Honestly, I don’t think that he knows that there even IS an Army Regulation governing Army Correspondence. Little things like, the paragraphs weren’t even numbered. Rubbish.

So, I wrote the SFC back to the email provided (a USAR email account) and listed my concerns, then told him that if he wanted to ask my to join the Reserves, ask it. Do not scare me into it. I then went on to explain that I wanted his Commanders name, phone number and email address and that I would report him for deceptive and coercive recruiting tactics and that if he failed to email me back, I would contact my congressman. So, the email gets returned "Undeliverable". I did a cursory search of AKO and found him. I sent the email with the "DAEMON post deliver failure" notice attached to his personal AKO account.

Monday morning, I get a call from the 1SG or CSM of the command, asking me to call back (he called while I was at work). I did and informed him of my concerns. He tried to explain that I wouldn’t have to sign a three contract or anything like that. I would just join the Reserves until my SRR was gone. He goes on to say, "I don’t know your resume (whatever the hell that is supposed to mean), but if you join now, you can choose any job you want!". Yay. Any job I want. No really, I am thrilled. I informed him my resume looks great (hell he could have a copy if he'd like) and that I am a civilian contractor for the DoD in Washington DC, doing the same thing that I did my seven years in the Army and had no desire to "change jobs". He goes, "Oh." (That was priceless). I then went on to explain that I had been to Iraq twice, just returned from the latest sentence, uh, tour, and been to Kosovo once (can I get a "yay yay" from Minus' corner?). I still have stabilization from Iraq and going to take my chances on them not calling me up for my last year of SRR, taking into account my deployment history. Additionally, I (at the time of the dialogue) had been out for less than a month. Not to mention (don't you hate it when people say that, then go ahead and MENTION it anyway?), on all three deployments, guess who was there? Drum roll, Minus.....that's right, Nasty Guard and Weekend Warriors. And Minus and Nemesis can both attest to that fact. It's ok Doug; we do not hate you for never having been deployed. No seriously, we don’t. Seriously, get over it, it's ok, we love you. Anyway, I can see it already: I sign up for the Guard or Reserves and two weeks later, Hello Stop Loss. The Army can keep that shit to themselves.

Anyway, he said that he would "put a note into the system" to keep the harassment to a minimum. Whatever the hell that means.

Ok, the bottom line up front here is, please, for God's sake (and yours...ok, more for your sake. Fine. The title really does explain it all. I am glad to see the European community a lot more involved in Iran, versus Iraq. See, Saddam was killing his own so it was ok. No threat to Germany, France or Russia. Now, you have a country that has the capability to create a nuclear weapon and reach Europe. A bit different now, isn't it? If diplomatic attempts fail, and a military option surfaces, I'd like to see everyone BUT the US involved. Let the US finish Iraq. Maybe we should poll.

<a href="http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/12/12/bush.iraq.poll/index.html"target="_blank">According to a recent poll over at <a href="http://www.cnn.com"target="_blank">CNN.com, President Bush has no "Victory Plan". Let me tackle that along with Howard Dean's comment, saying that the United States can't win the war.

First off, we have won the war. I do believe that the might of the US military defeated the Iraqi Army and Republican Guard (well, those that didn't hide anyway). Now, Dean would have sounded much, MUCH smarter, had he stated that we wouldn't win the insugency. Not that he would have been right, but closer to right. I personally, having been to Iraq twice, do not believe that the United States can win the insurgency in a timetable that Democrats request. If we plan on "beating" the insurgency, we will be there for much longer than say, two more years. The Iraqi people have to want peace, I mean really want it, in order to defeat the small, yet effective, insurgency. You have to remember, these people have been fighting for a very long time and will not stop just because we say so. This is what they know, and they are very good at it.

Second, I do believe that President Bush has a "Victory Plan", as some may call it. If you paid attention, from the beginning, he has stated that the important factor is rebuilding/preparing the Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) for the long haul. That is the foundation of Iraq today. Without the ISF, as soon as the US leaves, Al Qaeda in Iraq will, and I repeat, WILL take control of that country. Of course along with other, smaller insurgent groups. Do not get me wrong though: No matter when the US pulls out of Iraq, there will continue to be a civil war (admit it, that is what is happening now...our troops are just caught in the middle.) It's how the ISF deals with the chaos that determines the future of that region. And it is for that very moment that we are preparing the ISF for.

After the first rotation of US troops to Iraq, it was made clear that the US moved from a Force Protection stand point, to a more vulnerable, yet very important realm of assisting Iraqis in the recontruction effort of the ISF. If we were to continue to remain in a Force Protection posture, we'd NEVER leave that theater of operations.

And lastly, what is UP with all of these damn polls anyway? Every week there is a poll on the Presidents approval rating. I think that I saw one on his favorite color (We in the Western cultures like to call that a joke). That is why he/she (Come on, you know Hillary will be our next President, haha) is in office for four years. If the POTUS were to fret over every poll that was released, they'd go crazy. I mean, the % drops below 40 (sampling error of + or - 3%, now) and the we're in a frenzy (I mean, the POTUS is drumming up support for the "War" as we speak). Get a grip, people.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://wordzinga.blogspot.com/2005/12/do-you-want-touchdown-dance-maybe-we.html' title='Do you want a touchdown dance? Then he said in English, "To praise God", to which I responded, "Allah Akbar". He got excited and said in English, "God is big" and to which I said, "Allah Igwaah". He propped the mop on the wall, spread his arms and said in English, "God is big. You understand? God is big and can kill every people in America." He seemed to immediately realize this was rude, and in usual hospitable Iraqi fashion, added, "And every people in Iraq." I say this to point out a cultural difference. When I was little, I was taught God's greatness in terms of love and strength. God can move mountains. God's love is endless. That kind of thing. I was almost startled by the spiteful, thuggish God Mazim portrayed, and nervously giggled in response.

So the affinity with violence didn't stun me. Besides, I am American, not Swiss. It's part of our culture. But what does stun me is that these insurgents that they are supporting kill approximately 500% more Iraqis each year than coalition forces (CF). Further, Iraqis are far more likely to die at the hands of insurgents than CF. I take this from an Iraqi, not American media-- American media doesn't run stories such as <a href="http://www.almendhar.com/english_7156/news.aspx"target="_blank">these. For those too lazy to click the link, I will give you the gist of it: Insurgents have killed a reported 4,308 Iraqis so far this year. That's just what's been reported. Frankly, I am surprised it is so low.

Here's something else I found in Iraqi media, describing an incident in which some Halliburton (KBR) employees were killed in Ad Diluiyah:

"At least two of the men were dragged alive from their vehicle, which had been badly shot up, and forced to kneel in the road before being killed.... Killing one of the men with a rifle round fired into the back of his head, they doused the other with petrol and set him alight.... Barefoot children, yelping in delight, piled straw on to the screaming man's body to stoke the flames."

The scene described in reminicent of the murder of four Blackwater employees in Fallujah in 2004. In this case, their burnt bodies were strung up on an overpass, where they were battered like pinatas - by children.

Associated Press quoted Muslim clerics commenting on the disgraceful video footage of American soldiers burning Taliban bodies:

"Abu Ghraib ruined the reputation of the Americans in Iraq and to me this is even worse," Faiz Mohammed told The Associated Press from northern Kunduz province. "This is against Islam. Afghans will be shocked by this news. It is so humiliating. There will be very, very dangerous consequences from this."

"The burnings of these bodies is an offense against Muslims everywhere. Bodies are only burned in hell." - <a href="http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/world/3406571"target="_blank">Said Mohammed Omar"

"Kill Whitey"

Over at <a href="http://www.disinfo.com/site/displayarticle13569.html"target="_blank">Disinfo, they cover this series of monthly hip-hop parties called Kill Whitey in Williamsburg.

''Kill Whitey' is the name given to a series of monthly hip-hop themed parties staged in Williamsburg for large groups of wealthy, white hipsters too frightened to darken the door of real hip-hop clubs at which they might actually run into a real, live black person.' -Brainwashed article.

Check out the full Brainwashed article <a href="http://brainwashed.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3671&Itemid=9"target="_blank">here. A national class-action law suit is being filed claiming that Dr. Phil's weightloss plan is bogus.

Unhappy dieters told CNN Radio that after listening to McGraw [Dr. Phil], they believed they could lose weight by taking the pills alone.

Morons. Personally, I think that it's a great idea. If there is something in that home that is designed to intentionally injure, kill or mame...more often than not, the detained will not want to enter the building. Unless of course, he/she wishes to be a martyr.

"No one among the civilian population should be 'volunteered' to cooperate with the army," wrote Judge Aharon Barak. It says it all.

For those who would have me remove my sunglasses from my head; for those who fought soldiers to have backpacks (even Camelbacks) removed from the dining facility; for those who fought the wear of the booney cap; for those whose main concern was the wear of the physical training uniform in the gym; for those who would have National Guard units remove their state flags from the Pods; and for those who are concerned about what we wear on our way to the latrine, you are the problem.

Not one of the above rules will help me accomplish my mission flying troops over Iraq any more effectively. I am an Active Duty soldier in the United States military and currently deployed to the sandbox, attached to a National Guard unit. For the most part, I do not mind working with them. There are a lot of professional soldiers in the Guard. However, here is my bitch:

Whenever it suits them, they are "Active Duty". For instance, joking around, I'd say, "Whatever, you are National Guard. A weekend warrior." The retort you ask? I'm not National Guard...I'm Active Duty. Ok, yes and no. They are National Guardsmen and women activated to Active Duty for about 18 months, whereafter they head back to civilian life. Then, they proceed to show me their identification cards, indicating Active status. No problem with that. However, now, that we are in the process of returning home, select individuals are required to stay behind to clean up. Oh, wait...all of a sudden they aren't Active Duty anymore! Their response? I am National Guard. "Active Duty should stay behind because it's their jobs and they are used to being away from their families."

These last few weeks has really flipped my opinion of the National Guard for the worse. If that is their stance...then they need to head home and take care of the flood...that's their job. Not the 82nd Airborne Division's or 1st Cav's job...

Zinga was Right

Al Qaeda has claimed Let's see, Cindy, the Presidents daughters aren't 'over there' because this is a free country and we are able to make our own choices, just like your son did. What Cindy doesnt realize, is that there are plenty of congressmen and women whose children indeed are either serving or have served in the military. Despite what the fat fuck Michael Moore shows in his documentaries. What he didn't show in "Fahrenheit 911", were the congressmen who said, "Thanks, but my son is already in the Marines/Army/Air Force." Why didn't he show that? In the religion of Islam, every muslim male is entitled to lead Friday sermons in the mosque. My hats off to the governments of Turkey, Egypt, Saudia Arabia, Yemen, Algeria and England, which have tightened their grip on Imam's. For instance, Turkish government requires all imam's are required to complete formal studies, where the secular government set the curriculum. In addidtion, they are only allowed to preach if the have a government-provided license.

When imams, legitimate or not, go beyond the limits tolerated by Muslim states, those governments take decisive action. Thus, when Muslim “scholar” Abdul Rehman of Pakistan organized a widely attended service for Shehzad Tanweer, one of the London suicide terrorists, he was arrested; when Ali Belhadj, the former number two of the banned Islamic Salvation Front (FIS) of Algeria, supported the murder of Algerian diplomats in Iraq, he was arrested; when Yemeni cleric Ali Yahya supported the rebellion led by the Zaidi cleric Sheikh Badr al-Din al-Huthi, he was sentenced to death.

[Radical] Muslim cleric's need to grow a pair and start to accept some responsibility. Hmm...something is coming to mind here...oh, yeah, Charles Manson! What these radical imams are doing is on a smaller scale of what Bin Laden is doing. And exactly like what Manson did: never committed a murder; yet preached, recruited, indoctrinated and motivated actual murders. Who is responsible? Those damn imam's need to be held accountable. "Oh! Look at me...I am a radical muslim, I can do whatever I want to!"

Welcome to Word.

Alright, the basics is here.
