You think?

Wow.
But at some point, Farris Hassan, a 16-year-old from Florida, realized that traveling to Iraq by himself was not the safest thing he could have done with his Christmas vacation.

A little bit of advice: Do not, under ANY circumstances, pull out your pocket dictionary in downtown Baghdad. Retard.

Patriot Act diminished

52-47.

The Senate just voted not to extend expiring parts of the Patriot Act. The Patriot Act itself is not expiring, however, 16 provisions within it are. In laymans terms, they are provisions outlining information sharing, amongst other things. They were made temporary after September 11th, 2001, in order to assure that as much information was being gathered as possible, thwarting future terrorist attacks.

Among the provisions not extended are "roving wiretaps and secret warrants for books, records and other items from businesses, hospitals and organizations such as libraries."

Cuba banned from WBC

Dissed.
Cuba was not invited to the inaugural World Baseball Classic (WBC), which will be held in the United States, Puerto Rico and Japan, because of the long standing embargo. It seems as if the WBC commission is urging a US victory. This is 'almost' the equivalent of banning the Frogs from France or the Commies from playing hockey.
"Enough already!" said Antonio Mayeta, whose brother is a baseball player in Cuba. "It's unbelievable. This is about sports, not politics. In Cuba, baseball is our culture. Everyone was so anxious to see these games."
I couldn't agree more.

Holocaust a "myth" to Iran.

Interesting.
"They have invented a myth that Jews were massacred and place this above God, religions and the prophets," - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said in a speech to thousands of people in the Iranian city of Zahedan, Iran.

The United States, Israel and the European Commission -- along with individual European countries -- have condemned the remark. - CNN.

It's about time that we found something that the United States and anyone else can agree on.

Do you want a touchdown dance? Maybe we should poll.

According to a recent poll over at CNN.com, President Bush has no "Victory Plan". Let me tackle that along with Howard Dean's comment, saying that the United States can't win the war.

First off, we have won the war. I do believe that the might of the US military defeated the Iraqi Army and Republican Guard (well, those that didn't hide anyway). Now, Dean would have sounded much, MUCH smarter, had he stated that we wouldn't win the insugency. Not that he would have been right, but closer to right. I personally, having been to Iraq twice, do not believe that the United States can win the insurgency in a timetable that Democrats request. If we plan on "beating" the insurgency, we will be there for much longer than say, two more years. The Iraqi people have to want peace, I mean really want it, in order to defeat the small, yet effective, insurgency. You have to remember, these people have been fighting for a very long time and will not stop just because we say so. This is what they know, and they are very good at it.

Second, I do believe that President Bush has a "Victory Plan", as some may call it. If you paid attention, from the beginning, he has stated that the important factor is rebuilding/preparing the Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) for the long haul. That is the foundation of Iraq today. Without the ISF, as soon as the US leaves, Al Qaeda in Iraq will, and I repeat, WILL take control of that country. Of course along with other, smaller insurgent groups. Do not get me wrong though: No matter when the US pulls out of Iraq, there will continue to be a civil war (admit it, that is what is happening now...our troops are just caught in the middle.) It's how the ISF deals with the chaos that determines the future of that region. And it is for that very moment that we are preparing the ISF for.

After the first rotation of US troops to Iraq, it was made clear that the US moved from a Force Protection stand point, to a more vulnerable, yet very important realm of assisting Iraqis in the recontruction effort of the ISF. If we were to continue to remain in a Force Protection posture, we'd NEVER leave that theater of operations.

And lastly, what is UP with all of these damn polls anyway? Every week there is a poll on the Presidents approval rating. I think that I saw one on his favorite color (We in the Western cultures like to call that a joke). That is why he/she (Come on, you know Hillary will be our next President, haha) is in office for four years. If the POTUS were to fret over every poll that was released, they'd go crazy. I mean, the % drops below 40 (sampling error of + or - 3%, now) and the we're in a frenzy (I mean, the POTUS is drumming up support for the "War" as we speak). Get a grip, people.

Marshalls 1 - "Terrorist" 0

"The two air marshals said Rigoberto Alpizar had made a bomb threat." - White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan

Bipolar or not. Fact is, Rigor Mortis, uh, Rigoberto, made a bomb threat inside of a device that was used to kill nearly 3,000 innocent people. Not again. To all of you critics, you need to put yourself on that plane with a man running up and down an aisle claiming he has a bomb inside of a bag. What would you want the air marshalls to do?

And the White House is doing right thing by standing on the side of the air marshalls. A STANDARD investigation is underway...not to pin the blame on the air marshalls, but to apply lessons learned for future training and protocols.

"Rigo Alpizar was a loving, gentle and caring husband, uncle, brother, son and friend," Jeanne Jentsch said of her brother-in-law.

Mic test...one, two...

Word. I am back...alive and all. Well, after a night with Minus the Nemesis, A man in the arena and Ninjakitty, alive is about the only thing that describes me. I must say, though, that DW Eifert didn't drink nearly as much as MtN said he did. No, seriously. He was sleeping after two Miller Lites. Slow night, I guess.

Please, everyone that reads this HAS to stop by Minus the Nemesis. Good lefty moon-bat shite going on over there.
